Catskill Mountain Moccasins was formed in 1987 in Woodstock, New York by Mark Goldfarb and Diane Genninger. Along with Rod and Summer Gass and Lynn Collins, Catskill Mountain Moccasins began by exhibiting at a few Renaissance festivals and a couple of craft fairs.

With a firm commitment to making extremely high quality footwear, providing exceptional customer service and stressing a family atmosphere and values amongst its artisans, Catskill Mountain Moccasins started a process of slow and steady growth and is now the finest, most experienced custom footwear company in the USA today.

Over the years Catskill Mountain Moccaisns has been awarded best of show at a number of prestigous events including the New York Renaissance Festival and State College Arts Festival. The founder, Mark Goldfarb, has sat on juries deciding which of thousands of artisians are qualified to participate in some of the finest craft shows in The U.S. We have been featured in many magazine articles including Womens Wear Daily and Hudson Valley Magazine. We have had the honor of making custom footwear for artists in the recording and film industry including Joni Mitchell, Odetta, Lenny Kravitz and many others. Our footwear can be found on NY State supreme Court Justices, high school students and everyone in between.

Our footwear has helped many people who have foot problems and can not find footwear that fits them comfortably. We have many many moccasins for those who wear orthodics, need custom lifts in their soles, or who have lost the use of their lower extremities. Even though we do not make "corrective footwear" we can usually incorporate your needs into our moccasins.

Over the past 11 years other wonderful artisans have joined with us to share in the joy of making our customers the finest footwear available. As you will see some of them were taught through Mark's apprenticeship program and some joined as established moccasins makers.

With the addition of Milo Moran our total artisan family has grown to 11 talented leather workers. We have grown from participating in a few shows to covering the United States coast to coast and now Canada as well. As we continue to grow we will maintain one artistian one pair, one at a time. This will ensure that no matter how many pairs we as a company make in a year....your pair will get the absolute individual attention of one artisian start to finish!
